6 Ways To Prevent Losing Focus 1 | Innovator Coworking Space

Not being able to stay focused for a long time while working is a problem that many employees from different career groups face.

Due to the pandemic in the last few years, there has been a shift in the working environment. Many people had to change their working order and an increased number of employees switched to a home office.

With time the problems occurred and people started complaining about not being as productive as before. Of course, solving the many problems stated by them is not an easy task but when it comes to staying focused you can make big differences with small changes.

That’s why in this article, we will share some of these extremely easy-to-implement steps with you! Here are some of the methods that can be applied to those who are having difficulty concentrating on work…

1 – Organize Your Workspace

A simple but effective method that you can apply at home and in the office! Тhe cleaner and the more organized the area you work in, the easier you focus on the job. The logic here is simple: if there is an object on your desk that is irrelevant to your topic, your attention is very likely to be drawn to it. So you can start by creating a minimal working environment for yourself.

2 – Make a To-Do List

Having a list of things you would do for that day will help you create a roadmap that you can follow. Even if you have everything you need to do in your mind, a to-do list will help you gain extra motivation and focus.

3 – Make an Hourly Work Plan

When preparing a plan, try to match high-priority tasks to the hours when you can work most efficiently. When you have a plan to follow, you can resist distractions more easily. If you fail the plan once in a while, don’t be too hard on yourself; try again and try harder!

4 – Do Not Ignore the Importance of Nutrition

We can think of nutrients as fuel for our bodies. We therefore need to use the highest quality fuel possible for maximum performance. To keep your energy level at its ideal point, make sure you have a nutrition routine where protein, carbohydrates, oils are balanced in a healthy way. Also, be sure not to skip meals – especially when working from home! Of course, pay extra attention to consuming plenty of water throughout the day!

5 – Give Pomodoro a Chance!

The system of the Pomodoro Technique, which we’ve heard a lot of lately, works like this:

25 minutes of continuous work followed by a 5-minute break.

After repeating the above 4 times, take a long 20–30 minute break.

This method is very effective for some but doesn’t work for everyone. If you haven’t tried it, we suggest you give it a chance!

6 – Try Mindfulness Applications

Mindfulness can be defined as being conscious of the moment we’re in, focusing only on yourself, on what’s happening where you are. You can also see it as a type of meditation that covers a variety of applications and can certainly help you focus. You can try meditating on your little breaks, or use apps for yoga, breathing techniques, etc. which may help you improve your focus.
